The Designated Officer, appointed pursuant to Section 13 (3) of the Act, is offered with the requisite authority to receive, take steps to investigate or otherwise deal with a disclosure made. In order to function effectively, Officers need to be aware of their authority. This training, therefore, creates an awareness of the provisions of the Act, and helps to develop the appropriate skillset in the handling of protected disclosures.
