The organised system of defensive measures is instituted and maintained at all levels of command with the aim of achieving and maintaining security. The security and protective services professionals are responsible for the protection of life and property, the preservation of peace and good order, and the prevention and detection of crime. Profession titles in this group include, but are not limited to, Correctional Officer, Police Officer, Security Guard and military personnel.
